Ella

A Day in the Life: Freshman Year

Hometown: Burlington, Vermont

"Brewster has helped me grow by teaching me to focus more on my effort than the outcome."

- Ella

Three-Sport Athlete

Ella is a talented athlete who chose Brewster for the opportunity to compete in sports every season without the long daily travel to off-campus practices.

At Brewster, students participate in an afternoon activity or sport each trimester, and all students complete at least one interscholastic season. Many student-athletes choose to compete in multiple seasons, drawn by a strong team culture and a love of the game. This integrated approach allows athletics to be a meaningful and balanced part of everyday campus life. Learn more about our athletics on our athletics website.

As a member of the varsity basketball team, Ella plays a key role as point guard.

Ella's Afternoons throughout the Year

A school where you can BE YOU

Discover how Ella pursues her interests and spends her weekends below.

Pre-Season

Eager to get a head start, Ella jumped at the chance to participate in preseason ahead of her freshman fall season. The experience helped her prepare for varsity field hockey while also allowing her to meet her teammates, get comfortable in the dorm, and feel immediately connected as she transitioned to Brewster.

Weekend Activities

One of Ella’s favorite weekend activities so far? Inflatables in the Smith Center. For one Saturday night, the space transformed into a giant hub of fun. Ella enjoys spending time with students from all grade levels, many of whom she knows through playing sports.

Siblings at Brewster

Ella’s older brother attends Brewster, and the siblings will overlap on campus for one year. She appreciates being able to see him from time to time and that their parents can visit both of them at once. At the same time, Ella is quick to note that they have different friend groups and are each enjoying their own independent Brewster experience.
